Hi, I’m Lake—the Owner and Lead Artist of Lake Dessie Studio!

My journey with resin art began unexpectedly in 2020 when I was looking for a creative outlet. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, and over the years, I’ve had the honor of preserving flowers for 300+ clients across the country.

With six years of experience in epoxy resin and five years specializing in floral preservation, I take pride in transforming meaningful flowers into timeless keepsakes. Whether it’s a wedding bouquet, memorial arrangement, or any special bloom, my goal is to create a piece that holds not just beauty but deep sentimental value. I especially love working with bright, colorful, and whimsical bouquets—each one tells a unique story!

Before becoming a full-time artist, I worked as a nonprofit development manager and grant writer. I also have a degree in Entrepreneurship, which has helped me turn my passion into a business that serves so many wonderful couples and families.

When I’m not in the studio, you’ll probably find me cuddling with my dog or cat, watching a good documentary, tackling a home improvement project, or dreaming up new resin designs to bring to life.

My Design Style

My design style is joyful, colorful (if possible), and full of intention. I’m drawn to rich layers, packed compositions, and letting every bloom have its moment to shine—no sparse layouts here., unless that’s what you request! I love working with color and texture to create pieces that feel alive, expressive, and deeply personal, just like the moments they represent.

Collaboration is a big part of my process. Some clients want to be hands-on with design choices, while others prefer to trust me fully—and I love both. I meet you exactly where you are, guiding you as much (or as little) as you’d like so the final piece feels authentically you.

I also believe that great art comes from trust. That’s why I’m always transparent about timelines, materials, and what’s realistically possible with your flowers. You’ll never be left wondering where your piece is or what’s happening behind the scenes—I value clear communication just as much as beautiful results.

Preserving flowers that hold so much love and memory is something I take seriously—but I believe the process should feel exciting, personal, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish.
